Saint Lawrence University in upstate New York hired Porter to design the University’s brand new student center. The University’s existing center was undersized and outdated and the University wanted to create a comfortable and inviting space where students, faculty/staff and visitors could gather throughout the day and late into the evening. The new three-story building, which opened in the fall of 2004, features a contemporary design and offers a wide variety of services and amenities to the campus community including meeting rooms, campus service offices and two dining venues:

• One is an upscale coffee kiosk offers a variety of fresh-made baked goods, upscale sandwiches and salads, and beverages including freshly-brewed gourmet coffee, lattes, mochas, cappuccinos along with gourmet tea and fruit juices.
• The other dining venue is a retail food court featuring grilled sandwiches, pizza, soups, entrees and more.
• We also programmed and designed the Dana Residential Dining Hall on campus.
